Novus, partners to abandon Malacca Straits' L-2 well

Australian listed oil firm Novus Petroleum said on Thursday it will abandon L-2 well in Malacca Straits PSC in Central Sumatra.

Novus said the formation evaluation program was completed and the target reservoirs were water wet.

According to Novus, during the week, the well was drilled to a total depth of 5,068 feet (1,545m).

The participants in the Malacca Straits are Kondur Petroleum SA (operator, 34.36 percent interest holder), China National Offshore Oil Corporation (39.51 percent) and Novus Petroleum (26.03 percent). (robert)
