Australian listed oil and gas company Novus Petroleum Limited said on Thursday its crude production from two fields in Indonesian amounted to 6,176 barels of oil per day (bpd) in the third quarter of this year, down from the previous quarter?s 6,789 bpd.

The 6,176 bpd were from the Kakap and Malacca Strait fields, which contributed 2,774 bpd and 3,402 bpd respectively.

The drop in its crude production was largely the result of a temporarily pig in a flow line as well as natural decline in the Kakap field, the company said in a statement.

The Kakap field production dropped from the previous quarter?s 3,164 bpd.

Meanwhile, Novus? gas production from its Kakap and Lematang fields, in southern Sumatra, reached 5.6 MMscfd in the third quarter of this year, the company said.

Presently, Novus also operates a gas field in Brantas in East Java, and the sales of gas from that field reached 6.1 MMscfd in the third quarter of this year, compared with 7.0 MMscfd from the previous quarter.(leo)
