PT Nusantara Regas (NR), which owns the Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FRSU) in the Jakarta Bay is currently waiting for the finalization of the lease and cost sharing mechanism for the use of a pipeline facility belonging to PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore North West Java (PHE ONWJ).
NR, which is owned by state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina and gas distribution firm PGN, will use the pipeline to distribute gas to state-owned electricity company PLN?s Muara Karang and Tanjung Priok power plants.
?NR will be sharing the facilities with PHE ONWJ,? President Director of NR, Hendra Jaya told Petromindo.com Monday. ?The leasing and cost sharing mechanism has been finalized by BPMIGAS and DJKN,? he added, referring to the upstream oil and gas authority, and the state assets directorate general respectively .
President Director of Pertamina Hulu Energy (PHE) Salis Aprilian supported the plan for NR to share the pipeline facility, but demanded that it must also benefit PHE ONWJ as a business entity.
President Director of PT PHE ONWJ, Tenny Wibowo, shared Salis?s view. ?We?re currently discussing the technical details so that the sharing of the facilities can be made in a mutually beneficial principle,? he told Petromindo.com
He explained that the distribution of the ONWJ gas to the Tanjung Priok power plant is currently being optimized, so that gas for the Muara Karang power plant can be supplied by NR as much as possible.
?Together with NR, we?re currently looking into possible areas of modification of ONWJ facility at the Tanjung Priok (plant) so that the gas capacity for the powr plant can be increased in 2013,? he said.
?The installed capacity currently is about 120 mmscfd and has almost been entirely utilized by ONWJ. So, we?re looking on what else can be done to distribute (more gas),? he said, while adding that the company was optimistic that with certain modification, the gas distribution capacity can be increased next year.
