NR seeking to complete tie-in pipeline project

PT Nusantara Regas (NR), the owner of FSRU Jawa Barat offshore North Jakarta, said the work to tie in its pipeline with the facilities owned by PT Pertamina Hulu Energi ONWJ (PHE ONWJ) in North Jakarta is in progress and there isn?t fixed schedule for when the project will be completed.
At present, NR still uses its own pipeline to channel gas from the FSRU to PTLGU Tanjung Priok combined cycle power plant owned by state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara.
?Currently we are seeking to complete the tie-in,? NR?s Technical & Operation Director Nugroho Rachmadi to Petromindo.com.
?We are still coordinating with PLN on the time to complete the project, which will be synchronized with (PLN?s) maintenance or shutdown (of its power plants),? he said.
The pipeline tie-in is to follow up the agreement signed by NR and PHE ONWJ in August last year, in which both companies agreed to share facilities for the supply gas to two power plants owned by PLN in North Jakarta. PLN has two power plants in North Jakarta, namely PLTGU Tanjung Priok and PLTGU Muara Karang. Aside from FSRU Jawa Barat, the power plants also receive gas from ONWJ. PHE ONWJ has long established facilities to support the supply of gas to both power plants, including Onshore Receiving Facilities (ORF) in both Tanjung Priok and Muara Karang and a 12.3-km pipeline connecting both areas.
By tying in its pipeline with PHE ONWJ?s pipeline, NR will be able to benefit from PHE ONWJ?s facilities, can cut the costs of both firms. Under the tie-in agreement, both firms will jointly share the cost burdens of the facilities
