Jambi coal miner PT Nusantara Termal Coal (NTC), a coal unit of Permata Resources, revealed that total JORC reserves at its Mampun Pandan block in Bungo regency, reached 29.3 million tons of coal, up from previous estimate of 24 million tons, an industry source told Petromindo.Com.

Of the total, proven and probable reserves are 26.1 and 3.1 million tons, respectively.

Calorific value of the coal at the block is 5400-5,500 kcal/kg (GAR) with total sulhpur 0.6%

Coal mined is hauled 30km on a private haul road to the Muara Bungo stockpile area from where it is reclaimed and hauled a further 270 km on regional roads to a barge point in Jambi. From Jambi it is barged to the coast for transhipment

NTC mine started commercial production in April 2007. NTC produced around 1.2 million tons of coal during the period from July 2011 to September 2012.
