ASX-listed NuEnergy is making progress with respect to the development of coal bed methane (CBM) resources in Muara Enim PSC, with a pilot production currently underway aiming at commercializing early CBM output through a sale of the gas to a compressed natural gas (CNG) operator.
The gas is planned to be taken from the pilot Muara Enim site to be supplied in the form of CNG to peak power generators and local industries nearby, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
With the alternate fuel being diesel at prices in excess of $30/mmbtu, CNG is presenting Indonesia as an indigenously produced, competitively priced and clean alternative to the imported diesel fuel.
NuEnergy has positioned itself to take advantage of this emerging trend.
