ASX-listed NuEnergy Gas Limited reported that the radial jetting program undertaken at the Muara Enim production sharing contract (PSC) for its first pilot well was completed on 19 May 2013.
A total of 15 laterals were completed across five coal seams with an average lateral length of 32 meters and total lateral length of 485 meters being achieved, the company said in a press statement on Wednesday.
It also said that increased access to coal now expected to stimulate increased water and gas production.
The company has scheduled to commence its dewatering operations later this month. It has also planned to conduct drilling of two additional pilot production wells within the next six weeks.
The technical outcome has exceeded its expectation and is expected to stimulate higher water and gas production rates from the first pilot well.
It will also provide guidance as to optimal completion techniques for the following two pilot wells to be drilled from June this year.
The company stated that it had been well placed for first gas sales from Muara Enim by December 2013
NuEnergy?s Chairman Graeme Robertson said that the progress marks an important step in achieving its stated goal of first gas sales by December 2013. ?We are working cooperatively with our project partner Pertamina, the National Oil and Gas Company of Indonesia, to take the project forward and bring first sales to fruition in 2013,? he added.
