ASX-listed NuEnergy Gas Limited provided Friday following update on the drilling progress for its core wells at the Tanjung Enim Production Sharing Contract (PSC) tenement in South Sumatra.
The company said in a statement that core well ? TE-008C has been successfully drilled to the target depth. Drilling of the TE-008C well started in mid-June, and completed in early July.
The statement said that coals have been logged and a cumulative 49 meters of net coal seams have been identified. It added that logs confirmed over 13 meters for a single coal seam.
The company said that mobilization of the rig commenced immediately after the completion of the first core well in early July. The second core well, TE-007C is located about 2 km from TE-008C and approximately 190 km west of Palembang, South Sumatra.
It added that a truck mounted rig is being used to drill to a depth of 300 meters targeting known coal seams. This is the second of the three core wells to be drilled in the Tanjung Enim PSC during the quarter.
Upon completion of TE-007C, the rig will be mobilized to the third core well located in close proximity.
Tanjung Enim PSC covers 312.7 km2 of the South Sumatra Basin and is situated in the most prolific CBM basin in Indonesia with existing gas pipeline infrastructure nearby.
NuEnergy in May of this year acquired 100 percent of Dart Energy (Indonesia) Holdings Pte Ltd, which has a number of CBM assets in Indonesia including 45 percent participating interest in Tanjung Enim PSC.
