NuEnergy Indonesia, a subsidiary of ASX-listed NuEnergy Gas Ltd, started drilling the CBM-04 well in the Muara Enim coal bed methane (CBM) block in South Sumatra on October 10 of this year.

Arief Fanshuri, Head of Drilling and Survey Division at upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas, told Petromindo.com on Thursday that the company plans to drill another well, CBM-03, later on.

?Drilling of CBM-04 well is still in progress, the plan is to drill CBM-03 afterward,? Arief said.

This portal reported on September 25 that Nu Energy has submitted a pre-Plan of Development (PoD) for the Muara Enim CBM. The firm expected the pre-PoD to be approved by the government before the end of this year, NuEnergy Gas Indonesia Country Manager Yales Vivadinar said.

The firm needs the pre-PoD to be approved so that it can enter commercial phase and carry out the first delivery of compressed natural gas to Singapore.
