Australia-listed NuEnergy Ltd plans to develop a mini power plant with a capacity of 3-5 MW to supply electricity to people in Ibul Dalam Village, in Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. The project is expected to be in operation in 2013.

?We?re preparing for the development of a mini power plant with a capacity of 3-5 MW. We?ll supply (electricity) for the local community. But this will depend on the gas capacity to be distributed from the Muara Enim well,? CEO of Nu Energy Christopher Newport told Petromindo.com on the sidelines of a ceremony held to officially inaugurate the well Tuesday.

NuEnergy has allocated funds worth US$7-10 million for the drilling of three wells this year. Next year the company plans to drill two additional wells in Muara Enim. This year two wells have been drilled of the planned three wells. ?Our commitment is to drill three wells this year, but we only managed to do two wells. Next year, we plan to drill three wells,? Newport said.
