Indonesian coal miner PT Nusantara Berau Coal managed to produce about 250,000 tons of coal of 5,500 kcal/kg cv from its mine in Berau, East Kalimantan, during the first quarter of this year. The coal produced were mostly exported to China and India.
Liberty Simanjuntak, Corporate Secretary of Nusantara Berau Coal told Petromindo.Com that the low production quantity was partially caused by heavy rain, adding that the company targets to produce a total of 1.5 millions ton of coal in 2012.
"Hopefully we can optimize our production in the rest of the quarters so we can meet that target," he said.
