Nusantara Berau marks first coal shipment to China

Spokesman Liberty Simanjuntak said on Friday that the coal was sold through trader, which will be shipped to China. The vessel is estimated arrive on May 29-30 in Muara Pantai anchorage point.
Earlier, the company?s official told Petromindo.Com that NBC has started production at its Berau mine in February this year. The official said that the company plans to produce around 1.5 million tonnes of coal during 2011 and will ramp up the output to 3 million tonnes and 5 million tonnes in 2012 and 2013, respectively.
The calorific value of the coal is 5,400 kcal/kg (ADB) with low sulhpur, the official said, adding that the company?s run of mine (ROM) to jetty port, which located in Segah river just around 20 kilometer.
The jetty port can be entered by barge with a size of 270 feet.
Ithaca Resources has several other coal mines, all located in East Kalimantan and still in exploration stage. (denny)
