UK-based Indonesian coal mining firm Nusantara Energy Plc is awaiting to get forestry permit from Ministry of Forestry to enable its subsidiary to start production in Jambi province in 2011.

Logistics Director Jonathan Sims told Petromindo.Com that the company?s subsidiary PT Artha Nusantara Resources (ANR) should have secured the permit one month ago. ?We hope to secure the permit by year-end,? he said.

Sims said with permit secured by year-end, ANR would be able to produce 1-1.5 million tonnes in 2011, ramping up to 15MTPA in five years.

Sims said the 15MTPA production would be achieved after ANR completed construction of 115-km haul road from the mine in Sarolangun regency to Batanghari river.

According to Sims, SNR has 420 million of JORC-compliant reserves with more addition expected with further exploration.

According to Nusantara Energy?s website, ANR has 7,500-ha concession with coal CV ranging from approximately 5,100 to 5,550 kcal/kg (ADB).

According to Sims, Nusantara Energy is looking to list its shares at the London Stock Exchange in 2011-12. (denny)
