PT Nusantara Regas, which operates a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) in the Jakarta Bay, said gas sales volume this year is expected to rise by 15.79 percent to around 88 mmbtu from 76 mmbtu last year.

?For 2017, our cargo target will increase. From sales of 76 mmbtu to around 88 mmbtu,? said Tammy Medihardma Sumarna, President Director of Nusantara Regas, a joint venture company between state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina and IDX-listed gas distribution firm PT PGN Tbk.

He said the higher gas sales volume target comes amid rising demand for the fuel particularly for power plants.

Tammy said the FSRU this year will also start supplying gas to PLN?s Muara Tawar PLTGU combined cycle power plant. The FSRU currently supplies gas to PLN?s Muara Karang and Tanjung Priok PLTGUs in Jakarta.

He said that a new metering system is expected to be on-stream this year to facilitate gas supply for the Muara Tawar power plant, and extra supply for the Tanjung Priok plant starting 2018.

?We?re also in synergy with Pertamina subsidiary, Pertagas, to supply gas for industries,? he added.

Tammy said that Nusantara Regas last year booked a net profit of US$55.12 million.
