Nusantara Regas kicks off LNG floating terminal construction

Pertamina said in an announcement that the FSRT is expected to be operated in January 2012 with a capacity of 3 million tonnes per year of LNG or equal to 400 MMSCFD. The gas will be supplied to the Muara Karang and Tanjung Priok power plants in Jakarta, owned by state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara.
So far, the terminal has bagged LNG supply contract with a volume of 1.5 million tonnes per year or 200 MMSCFD from French firm Total Indonesie?s Mahakam block in East Kalimantan, Pertamina said, adding that Regas will seek LNG supplies from another source to fulfill the installed capacity of the terminal.
Regas will build a 15-km, 24-inch pipeline to deliver the gas from the terminal to the power plants. (romel)
