Nusantara Regas to tender for LNG carrier

PT Nusantara Regas (NR), the operator of LNG floating receiving and storage unit (FRSU) in Jakarta bay will conduct tender to find transporter to ship LNG from Badak NGL in East Kalimantan to its facilities in Jakarta bay.

Operations Director Ari Adji told Petromindo.Com on Friday that the company will require one LNG vessel in 2012 and another one in 2013. ?Tender preparation is underway, ?he said, adding that the vessel will transport 24 cargoes of LNG in 2012. The vessel will be contracted for 11 years. He said the vessel must be Indonesian-flagged to comply with cabotage rule.

The Jakarta bay FRSU, which will have capacity to process 3MTPA of LNG, is scheduled to start operations early next year.

Ari said that NR expected to seal gas supply agreement with Mahakam block operator Total E&P Indonesie as well as with state electricity firm PLN as the offtaker of the LNG processed by NR in August this year. (bernard)
