Official proposes natural gas replace gasoline

A senior official at the Ministry of Mines and Energy called for the greater use of natural gas as an alternative to automotive diesel oil.
Ministry expert staff Iin Arifin Takhyan said Indonesia had an abundant natural gas resources, which remain largely unused, while the government spent US$6 million per day to import automotive diesel oil.
Iin estimated Indonesia's natural gas resources at 214 trillion cubic feet (TCF). (*)
