The new government should, at least, be able to avoid introducing counterproductive policy in the oil and gas exploration and production activities, and to improve coordination among ministries.
"The coordination between the ministry of energy and mineral resources, and the ministry of finance should, for example, be improved so that there will be no more inconsistency in the government's policy," Supramu Santosa, the president director of PT Star Energy said on the sidelines of a meeting between oil and gas companies' executives and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro.
According to Supramu, due to the lack of coordination, the policy introduced by the Minster of Finance often contradicted with those issued by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources. "The coordination should be therefore improved in the upcoming Cabinet so that such kind of inconsistencies could be minimized," he said. (*)
