Oil and gas law amendment to be finalized after election

A legislator said on Thursday that the House of Representatives? Commission VII which oversees energy affairs has not budgeted meetings to amend Oil and Gas Law No. 21/2002 in the first sitting session of the year.

The amendment process may be finalized by the legislators chosen during the Legislative Election in April this year.

?It is not likely to continue the amendment process of the law in the current sitting session. We hope (the amendment process to be continued) after the Legislative Election,? Satya W. Yudha, a commission member from the Golkar party.

The Commission kicked off the amendment of the law in 2011. However, Satya said thus far there isn?t yet any official draft of the revised law.
