Oil and gas projects to come onstream in 2016

Upstream authority SKK Migas said that seven oil and gas projects are scheduled to start production and two to reach peak production in 2016.

SKK Migas? Spokesperson Elan Biantoro said that the Banyu Urip field in Cepu block and Bukit Tua field in Kepodang block are expected to reach full-scale production in the first quarter of next year, from the initial schedule of 2015.

"The entire production facilities have yet to be completed. Banyu Urip and Bukit Tua will produce 165,000 bopd and 20,000 bopd, respecively," Elan said at a Media Gathering of SKK Migas in Cirebon, West Java, on Sunday.

In addition, there are three projects that will begin production in the first quarter of 2016. The three projects are the Donggi gas project and, development of Pondok Makmur field which are operated by Pertamina EP, and project of North Duri Development Area 13 with a planned production of 17,000 bopd which is operated by Chevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI).

In the second quarter 2016, the Bangka field, Rapak block, which is part of Indonesia Deepwater Development (IDD) Project, which is operated by Chevron, will produce 120 mmscfd of gas.

The Kerendan project, operated by Salamander Energy, will produce 30 mmscfd of gas.

In the third quarter 2016, the Wasambo project amounting to 70 mmscfd by Energy Equity Epic Sengkang (EEES) is scheduled to start production. Meanwhile, the Matindok project with 65 mmscfd of gas and 500 bopd oil is targeted to start production in the fourth quarter 2016.
