Indonesia's oil and gas exports rose by 4.35 percent to US$1.51 billion in July from $1.37 billion in the previous month, Media Indonesia daily quoted Central Statistics Agency (BPS) monthly trade report.

The paper said on Saturday that the increase in the oil and gas exports was mainly attributed to a 13.4 percent hike in the export of natural gas to US$770.1 million, and the increase in the crude oil export by 7.71 percent to $673.4 million.

But the paper said that oil and gas sector had no longer become the main driver of the country's exports due to declining oil production at home. The country's total exports during the month increased by 3.93 percent to $6.99 billion mainly on the back of a higher non-oil and gas exports.(*)
