Oil, gas lifting exceeds target

The country?s oil and gas lifting during the first quarter of this year exceeded the target set in the 2016 state budget, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said in a statement Friday.

Oil lifting during the January-March period of this year averaged at 835,000 bpd, or higher than the 830,000 bpd target set in the state budget. Director General of Oil and Gas at the ministry, IGN Wiratmaja Puja hopes the first quarter performance could be maintained until the end of the year.

Meanwhile, gas lifting in the first quarter of this year averaged 8,219 mmscfd, or higher than the 7,825 mmscfd set in this year?s state budget.

Elsewhere, the statement said that oil and gas lifting as per April 5 remained higher than target at 841,000 bpd, and 8,115 mmscfd, respectively.
