IDX-listed oil, gas company PT. Energi Mega Persada Tbk (EMP) said on Wednesday that oil production in Sepanjang field, Kangean PSC, offshore East Java would resume in the third week of December after a temporary floating storage an offloading (FSO) would be installed.
EMP Operations Director Imam Agustino told reporters that the field would produce 6,000 barrels of oil per day and would be increased when permanent FSO, which is currently being tendered, would be installed.
The block operator Kangean Energy Indonesia (KEI) Ltd was forced to stop production from Sepanjang field in December 2007 after bad weather and strong wind hit and damaged the field?s FSO.
KEI is conducting the activities in the PSC under the management control of Mitsubishi Corporation (Mitsubishi) and Japan Petroleum Exploration Co., Ltd (Japex), with EMP as a partner.(denny)
