Oil production reaching 964,864 bpd

The oil production by the country's oil and gas contractors reached 964,864 barrels per day (bpd) as Dec. 20, 2009, including 142,421 bpd of condensate.

?The production should have been higher, reach 975,000 bpd, had the contractors not faced technical obstacles," BPMIGAS's spokesman Amir Hamzah Hamzah was quoted by Bisnis Indonesia as saying on Tuesday.

The oil production of PT Pertamina EP decreased by 2,000 bpd because the subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero)is having a problem at its generator.

Replacement of FSO in the Kakap block operated by Star Energy is also causing the production of the block to drop by 4,000 bpd.

In the meantime, Mobil Cepu Limited has started producing 12,000 bpd of oil but the company is facing difficulty delivering its oil to storage.

Oil production in Belanak FPSO Field is decreaseing by 6,000 bpd due to some technical problems.

Oil lifting reached 982,160 bpd for this month as of Dec. 22, higher than the average lifting in the last 11 months which stood at 867,572 bpd. (*)
