Oil shows at Medco?s Pidawan-1 well in E. Kalimantan

Australian listed oil company CityView Corporation Limited said on Thursday there had been several oil shows in the lower section of Pidawan-1 well in Simenggaris Block which is operated by its joint venture partner publicly listed oil and gas company PT Medco Energi International Tbk.

CityView said oil had shown in the Pidawan-1 well after the drilling program had reached a depth of 7478 feet. Pidawan-1 well is located in East Kalimantan.

Mud logs indicated that these shows ranged from 2 feet sections to 6 feet in length, the company said.

According to CityView, Medco expected to reach the total drilling depth of 7546 feet on Thursday and was continuing to run the logs.

Meanwhile, CityView also said exploration on Sebaya-1 well in Madura Block in East Java had continued to swabbing on zone 4 of the well.

Earlier CityView said the testing on zone 1, 2, and 3 of the Sebaya-1 well had not shown any flow.

Both exploration blocks are operated by PT Medco Energi International Tbk, a Jakarta Stock Exchange listed oil, gas firm. (robert)
