Oilex spuds Pendalian-3 well

Australian firm Oilex Ltd started on Friday spudding Pendalian-3 well at the West Kampar PSC in
The firm is currently drilling a pilot hole to 196 ft, which is planned to take 13 days. After the drilling, the well will be cased and a comprehensive 14 day, multi-zone testing program will be undertaken, the company said.
The Pendalian-3 well will appraise the oil discovered in 1993 at the Pendalian-1 well, a cored slim hole which encountered a number of oil zones at depths ranging from 250 metres to 500 metres. Two shallow zones in the Sihapas Sandstone flowed oil from cased hole tests, one of which at 530 barrels per day.
Participants in the West Kampar PSC are, Sumatera Persada Energi 55 percent (Operator) and Oilex 45 percent. (denny)
