Villagers in Tanjungseteko village of the Inderalaya in the regency of Ogan Komering Iilir (OKI), South Sumatra have finally agreed to sell a disputed land to PT Exspan Nusantara, Sriwijaya Post reported on Saturday.
The 2.5 hectares-land which is owned by eight villagers was sold to PT Exspan several months ago for Rp 337 million. But the sale was cancelled after another villager claimed the ownership of the land. He then brought the case to the local court.
Negotiations mediated by the head of the local district, however, could settle the dispute and the villagers who jointly owned the land finally agreed to sell the land to the company which would use the land plot as part of its planned steam power plant. (*)
