Old oil wells to be managed by the people

Hundreds of old oil wells in Kutai Kertanegara regency in East Kalimantan will be taken over by the administration and would let the people including the cooperatives to manage their production, the local Kaltim Post daily reported.
The paper quoted Kutai Kertanegara Regent H. Syaukani as saying that the administration would issue a new ruling to back up the plan.
Syaukani urged oil companies operating in the area to report their old oil wells, which were no longer being utilized. There were no details about the new plan. (*)
