Olympia starts C. Kalimantan zircon production

Australian firm Olympia Resources Ltd said on Thursday it has commenced first zircon production from the Sampit processing plant in Central Kalimantan.

The zircon being produced from Sampit is good quality Standard Grade Zircon, the company said. Standard Grade is the common grade of zircon produced around the world.

The company did not disclose production rate.

?Once Sampit is fully settled down we plan to push ahead with the Bati Bati plant in Southern Kalimantan with the aim of having it in operation in the third quarter of 2008. With both plants in operation we will have the capacity to produce 35,000 tpy of zircon with a sales value of approximately AUD$35 million,? Managing Director Peter Gazzard said. (denny)
