Only 5 of 14 oil and gas blocks attract bidders

The government?s oil, gas regular tender in the first bidding round of 2010, which announced in July, is apparently not very successful as only five of a total of 14 blocks offered have attracted bidders.
The five blocks are Wokam I and II blocks offshore Papua, South East Baronang block offshore Natuna, Sokang block offshore Natuna and South Sokang block offshore Natuna, a Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources official told Petromindo.com on Thursday.
The bidders include Murphy Oil, Salamander, Lundin, Ephindo and BHP Billiton, the official said.
The official did not give further details. (godang)
