Operations in Duri, Minas fields back to normal

Activities of PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia in Duri and Minas fields have returned to normal, a positive development following reports of previous operation disruption as contractors were concerns over the recent guilty verdict on the firm?s bioremediation project.

Earlier in May, 3 out of 11 rigs in Minas and Duri fields were temporarily shut down as the contractors were concerned over the court decision, saying their contract nature is more or less the same with the bioremediation project.

However, operation has now resumed to normal, according to VP Public Affair Chevron Indonesia Yanto Sianipar.

?Rigs have back to work again. Operation has returned to normal,? said Yanto to petromindo.com.

Recently, a special court of corruption sentenced Herlan bin Ompu to six years in prison and a fine of Rp 250 million, and Riscky Prematuri to five years in prison and a fine of 200 million. They are also required to pay the state for the losses of about US$9.9 million. The two are, respectively, directors of PT Green Planet and PT Sumigita.
