Ophir plans drilling of exploration well in West Papua IV block

Ophir Energy Plc is currently finalizing plan to drill one offshore exploration well, called Omah-1, in West Papua IV block located in offshore Papua.
Ngatijan, Head of Drilling and Survey Division at upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas told Petromindo.com on Monday that the planned drilling program is not yet firmed as its realization will depend on the results of further assessment and G&G study.
He said that if everything goes well, the drilling program will be implemented in the second quarter of 2018 to a depth of 1,800 meters.
On Monday, Ophir announced tender for the provision of deep water drilling unit services.
Ophir has a 49.9 percent operating interest in the West Papua IV Block.
