UK-based Ophir Energy plc said on Thursday that Indonesian state-owned electricity firm PT PLN is close to complete the final section of a gas transmission line linking the latter?s 155 MW Bangkanai gas engine power plant with the former?s Kerendan gas plant facility (KGPF) in Central Kalimantan.
?PT PLN has informed Ophir Energy plc that the last transmission pylon required to complete the 290 km Tanjung line was installed in December 2016 and cables are currently being pulled,? Ophir said in a statement.
Once the Tanjung line is completed, gas production is expected to increase to 20 MMscfd, in line with the daily contract quantity (DCQ) as set under a gas sales agreement (GSA) between Ophir and PLN. ?The line will connect the Kerendan gas field into the regional power grid and will enable gas production from Kerendan to ramp up to the full daily contract quantity of 20 MMscfd,? Ohpir said.
Ophir started in the latter part of last year partial delivery of gas from KGPF to the Bangkanai gas engine power plant (PLTMG).
Elsewhere, Ophir said it continues to accrue a take-or-pay receivable due from PLN for 80 percent of the DCQ volume.
Ophir Indonesia (Bangkanai) Ltd holds a 70 percent operating interest in the Kerendan field, Bangkanai PSC, Central Kalimantan, and PT Saka Energi Bangkanai Klemantan holds a 30 percent equity interest.
