Oropa to kick off N. Sumatra gold project FS

Australian mining firm Oropa Limited plans to start feasibility study to develop its Pungkut gold project in North Sumatra in early 2009.
The company revealed in a presentation released Monday that it would initially focus the FS on Sihayo-Sambung prospect, which currently host inferred resources of 710,000 grams of gold. The resources at Sihayo are expected to be further upgraded this month, with scoping study planned to be carried out soon.
The company also revealed that it was: ?assessing strategic alliance to fast-track the project?. It did not give further detail.
Oropa has 75 percent stake in Pungkut gold project, with IDX-listed miner PT.Aneka Tambang holding the balance.(denny)
