The company will start with producing 40,000 tonnes per month in early 2012 and after 2012 it would double the coal output to 80,000 tonnes per month, the company said.
The mine is consisting of Block 2 (B2) and Block 6 (B6) coking and thermal coal project. Orpheus has commissioned a survey of the project area B2 to identify coal face positions in order for Minarco to complete both the short term and life of mine production plans. B2 block has started trial shipment early this year.
The B26 Coal Project is located approximately 27km from the barge loading site. Coal is currently being loaded onto the barges which will then be transported out to the transshipping area in the middle of Adang Bay, East Kalimantan, where it will be loaded on to ships for transport to overseas clients.
The B6 project currently has an exploration target of 1.5 to 2.5 million tonnes and has recently undergone a substantial drilling program of over 30 drill holes to establish a JORC resource. (denny)
