Australia-listed Orpheus Energy Limited announced that it shipped four coal barges carrying a total of approximately 28,000 tons of thermal coal from its Alam Duta Kalimantan (ADK) project in South Kalimantan.
The coal, having specification of 5500-5300 Kcal/Kg (ADB) with low in ash and sulphur, would be sold to an Indonesian trading group.
The company said that the coal quality assays are expected in the next fortnight and once received, final pricing will be agreed.
?We are delighted that the Joint Venture has been able to progress so quickly into coal exports since we first announced Orpheus had secured a 50 percent equity interest in the ADK coal project, in March 2012. The SSDK port provides Orpheus with valuable extra capacity to increase our export tonnage, which we intend to aggressively pursue over the coming months,? Executive Chairman Wayne Mitchell said in the statement.
The SSDK port, located approximately 15km from the ADK coal mine, and some 10km down the coast from the PCMU (?Citra?) port, provides additional available capacity for Orpheus Energy coal exports.
