Oxiana may start production from N.Sumatra gold project 2009

Australian mining firm Oxiana Resources may start production from its Martabe gold mine in North Sumatra as early as 2009.
The company said in a presentation filed with the Australian Securities Exchange on Monday that the mine?s production start would be subject to Bankable Feasibility Study that is currently underway.
According to the company, Martabe has resources of 6 million ounces of gold and 60 million ounces of silver with further upside potential. (alex)
