Oyong gas field to undergo three-week shutdown

A three-week production shutdown is planned for the Oyong gas field in the Sampang PSC, offshore Madura Island, East Java.
?Oyong Floating Storage and Offtake (FSO) to be replaced in October 2013, requiring a 3-week shutdown,? Australian oil, gas firm Cue Energy Resources Ltd said in a presentation material to investors on Monday.
Oyong is one of the three fields within the Sampang PSC, which is operated by Santos with a 45 percent interest. Cue has a 15 percent interest in the PSC, while Singapore Petroleum Company holds a 40 percent interest. The two other fields in the block are Wortel and Jeruk.
The Oyong field is located at 41 meters water depth with the reservoir being at a depth of approximately 750 meters. The field initially contained an oil column of 38 meters overlain by a gas cap of approximately 110 meters. Gas production started in 2007.
The development currently consists of 5 horizontal oil production wells and 2 vertical gas producers with a wellhead platform and Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) and Floating Storage and Offtake (FSO) vessels moored adjacent to the platform. The gas is exported via pipeline to the Grati power station in East Java.
Wortel first production was in 2012. Cue Energy said that combined gross production at Wortel and Oyong fields was about 85 mmcf/d and 200bbl/d
The Jeruk field was discovered I 2003. Santos estimated the 3C resources at 50 MMbbls, according to the presentation material. ?Discovery is currently being re-evaluated with seismic reprocessing planned for 2014,? the presentation material said.
