Padang Karunia to increase coal output from Sanga-Sanga

Coal mining, infrastructure firm Padang Karunia Group is targeting to increase coal output by around 10-15 percent to 1.15 million tons this year from its Sanga-Sanga coal mine in East Kalimantan.

Operation Director M. Budiman told Petromindo.Com on Tuesday that the Sanga-Sanga mine started coal production in 2005 and it produced 700,000 tonnes and 1 million of coal in 2006 and 2007, respectively.

The mine has mineable reserve 10 million tons with calorific value 5,600-5,800 kcal/kg.

The coal is sold to the company?s trading subsidiary, he said. (denny)
