ASX listed Padang Resources Limited recently announced that it has made further progress with technical due diligence and has secured a number of permits necessary to commence coal mining from its Paser Project, East Kalimantan.

These include Environmental Impact Control Agency (UKL/UPL Permit) from the Environmental Impact Control Agency and Forestry Services Department of Mining and Energy (Other Utilities Area) confirmed by the Forestry Services Department of Mining and Energy to be within a ?Other Utilities Area? and not in a ?Production Forest? or ?protected Forest? zone. Coal mining from the permit area is therefore approved.

The IUP holder has confirmed a valid agreement with the owners of the network of roads within the permit and directly from the permit area to the jetty. In addition, it has also confirmed possession of a permit awarded by the Bupati Pasir to use the Jetty on the Apar River, approximately 14 km from the permit area for the purpose of loading coal onto barges.
