Padangbara to boost 2011 coal output

Coal miner PT Padangbara Sukses Makmur has targeted to increase coal output from its Kalimantan mines to 5.5 million tonnes this year from last year?s 3.7 million tonnes, the company?s official said.

The official told Petromindo.Com that its joint venture with PT Hasnur Jaya Utama called PT. Tapin Suthra Berjaya (TSB) is expecting to produce around 3 million tonnes of coal this year from TSB?s coal mine PT Bhumi Rantau Energi.

The remaining will be sourced from its Sanga-sanga coal mine in East Kalimantan. The mine will produce 1.2 million tonnes per annum and will also produce coal from its North Barito mine in Central Kalimantan, the official said.

PT Padangbara Sukses Makmur, a subsidiary of Padang Karunia (PK) group, a holding company involved in coal mining, infrastructure, and trading activities. (denny)
