Padangbara to increase coal output at C. Kalimantan mine

Coal miner PT Padangbara Sukses Makmur, a unit of Padang Karunia Group has started coal production at its Muara Teweh coal mine in North Barito regency, Central Kalimantan since May this year with current output of 40,000-50,000 per month.
The company?s GM Santoso Lokadjaja told Petromindo.Com that next year the company plans to boost the mine's production to 1 million tons.
"Currently, our coal is only sold on the domestic market," he said, adding that starting next year the company will seek to export its output.
The mine is located about 20 kilometers from Barito river with transhipment point for the coal situated in Taboneo in South Kalimantan, he said.
The company?s coal, called ?Anugerah Coal?, has calorific value of 5,800-6,000 kcal/kg (ADB) with total moisture of 24 percent, ash content of 7-8 percent and low sulphur cotent of 0.8 percent. (denny)
