Pagar Dewa gas terminal project in South Sumatra begins

The construction of the Pagar Dewa gas terminal in South Sumatra was officially launched on Sunday by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro during a ground breaking ceremony also attended by South Sumatra Governor Syahrial Oesman and state owned gas distribution company PGN's president director WMP Simanjuntak.

The gas terminal which will be used as the receiving and distribution station for PGN's Rp 12 trillion gas transmission network linking South Sumatra and West Java is expected to be completed within six months.

The terminal will receive gas supply from gas fields in Grissik, Jambi and several other gas fields in South Sumatra including Musi Banyuasin, and Prabumulih. The gas will then transmitted to Serpong, Banten and Tega Gede, Bekasi through the inter-island gas pipeline network, which is now under construction.(godang)
