Production activities at Pagerungan field of Kangean PSC in Madura, East Java owned by publicly-listed national firm PT Energi Mega Persada (EMP) resumed on Thursday morning.

Dody Hidayat, deputy operation of oil and gas regulator BP Migas, told Petromindo.Com on Thursday that the field started delivering natural gas at the rate of 39 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD) to the East Java Gas Pipeline at 9.15 a.m.

He noted however four offshore wells of the field were still unable to operate.

?Divers are needed to open the master/shutdown valves,? he said.

EMP shut down the field on Saturday following a demonstration by the Pagerungan Besar who demanded revenue sharing from the gas production, additional infrastructure development, and community development priority for the island over other islands. (Godang)
