PAI to conduct oil survey in East Java waters

PT Pertamina Arco Indonesia (PAI) plans to conduct an oil survey in the waters of the Tuban coast in East Java covering some 8,000 Km2, the Surabaya Post daily reported on Wednesday.
PAI public relations officer Budi said that the survey would start this month and was expected to end next month.
He said that the company had started to socialize the plans to the local fishermen community to avoid problems.
He said that the survey would involve several vessels, which could cause conflict with the local fishermen if the survey plan was not being socialized. (*)
