Paiton coal supply tender draws 10 bidders

PT. Pembangkitan Jawa Bali (PJB), a unit state electricity firm PLN said on Tuesday that its recent coal supply PQ tender for Paiton power plant, East Java for 2009-2010 delivery, had drawn 10 bidders.

Tender Committee Official Harry Purnomo told Petromindo.Com that all of the 10 participants Kalimantan coal traders.

Harry said that the participants would submit bidding on December 23.

PJB on December 3 opened two separate PQ tenders to supply 100,000 tonnes per month (TPM) of coal, which consisted of 40,000 TPM of 4,800 kcal/kg A.R coal and 60,000 TPM of 5100 kcal/kg A.R coal.

Harry said four of the participants were also bidding to supply the 5,100kcal/kg type.

Delivery would start in February 2009, Harry said. (denny)
