Private power company PT Paiton Energy is still seeking for coal suppliers to provide coal for its thermal power plants in 2018, according to a senior company official.
The company, which owns power plants in East Java with combined capacity of 2,035 MW, has already secured coal supply for this year from several suppliers.
"But for 2018 and the following year, we are still looking for the coal suppliers," Paiton Energy Director Syakib Bafagih told Petromindo.com on Friday.
He said that while the company previously used to get coal supply with calorific value (CV) of 5,000 Kcal/kg, there has been changes now as the company gets coal with CV of 4,800-4,900 Kcal/kg.
