Paiton plant ?disconnected? from Java-Bali system

The coal-fired Paiton power plant was briefly ?disconnected? from the Java-Bali interconnection system on Tuesday, causing about an hour of brownout in several areas in East Java.

?There was a problem at Paiton plant, but only for about one hour as it could be fixed, and (power) supply resumed again,? Public Relations Manager at state-owned electricity firm PLN, Bambang Dwiyanto told Petromindo.com Wednesday.

PLN is currently investigating the incident to help avoid the reoccurrence of such problem in the future.
