Independent Power Producer (IPP) Paiton Energy Company (PEC) has commenced shut down of its East Java coal-fired power plant for routine maintenance, the company official said.
?Paiton 7 power plant is under scheduled maintenance starting today (Tuesday),? said a company secretary speaking on behalf of the company?s Senior VP Operations Abu Nor Mohammed over the phone. She, however, declined to say until when the plant would be in maintenance mode.
Paiton operates 615 x 2 MW coal-fired power plants in Probolinggo, East Java. The plants consume about 3 million tons of coal per year, solely supplied by Indonesia?s largest coal producer PT. Adaro Indonesia. (godang/robert)
