Paiton to raise power tariff

Starting 2001, independent power producer PT Paiton Energy will raise its power tariff to 2.6 U.S. cent per Kwh from the current price of 2.2 cent per Kwh, the Media Indonesia daily said.

The paper quoted Paiton president Ronald Landry as saying that even at the new price, the company was selling at lower than the basic production cost as fuel cost has increased.(*)
